Energy & Bioclimatic Design

Bioclimatic design takes advantage of the techniques of building design and of energy systems technologies aiming to reduction of energy consumption and emitted pollutants, utilizing the local environmental and climatic characteristics (wind, sun, earth).

The location, orientation, shading, the functional settlement of spaces, the thermal insulation of building elements, the heat capacity and thermal inertia, the application of passive heating / cooling / lighting systems, shaping and planting landscaping, exploitation of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are some of the issues that are addressed through the bioclimatic / Energy planning.

The bioclimatic approach and the advanced energy design already is applied in many buildings, resulting to the reduction of energy consumption and environmental footprint.

Simulation of thermal performance

Eco-Energy provides full support on issue of simulations of thermal systems behavior and building structures through software - computational CFD & BEM models, (Computational Fluid Dynamics & Building Energy Modeling) to predict the energy performance and for the allocation of bottlenecks that requiret selection of the most appropriate energy upgrading interventions. Examples include the following simulation options:

  • Simulation of energy performance of buildings (calculation of energy consumption, calculation of greenhouse gases emissions, CO2 etc, dymanmics determination, estimate the impact of external factors).
